Hi guys,
I know it's been ages since I posted my first blog entry, but life has been hectic with prelim preparation, fundraising and being involved with so much in my local community! But enough excuses, I shall tell you what I have been up to over the last 3 months.
My mum and I decided that as it was this time of year, craft stalls would be appropriate for fundraising as everybody starts to look for Christmas presents. Deciding what to make for the craft stalls was harder! Eventually - after much deliberation and internet surfing - we decided on soaps, bath salts, lavender bags, scarves and bracelets. We set to work making all this stuff (pics in album) and I attended as many different coffee mornings, craft fayres and car boot sales as I could. I also organised my own coffee morning (and this made £400) so I started to feel slightly better about being able to reach the massive target PT has set.
I also wrote my first letter to a charitable trust and was really lucky in receiving £150! Now I just need to write to another 50-100…Don't know when I'm going to fit that in, or who I am going to write to! I've had t-shirts made, leaflets have gone out and I've set up my virginmoneygiving page and an easyfundraising account (links at the bottom).
My total to date is around £1750! So I'm about a third of the way there. After Christmas I am hoping to run quiz nights, a race night and possibly a ceilidh or a disco. I also have a bag pack booked, and I am hoping to get a second one at the next nearest supermarket. So lots to do! Especially as all this will be happening around studying for my Advanced Higher exams.
Talking about exams, on a wee side note, I have just sent off my UCAS application and so I am nervously waiting to hear back from the 4 unis I applied to.
