Well that was a busy day! Starting off with a free breakfast in the hostel, I spent the first 5 minutes trying to find the coffee ! I had to wash up my own dishes not the end of the world as I didn't even realise it was included. It was then all communal tables and I was probably the oldest by 20 years!
I then took a stroll to union square and picked up "Dylan's tours" there were 14 of us a couple of families - one traditional American ! And off we went for 6 hours. A great way to get to know the city and work out where I want to go back to tomorrow :-)
My favourite area so far is Haight Ashbury, it is much like the North lanes in Brighton. The mission area had lots of character and I would like to go back there too. We went to Pacific heights which is where the ceo of yahoo has just bought a pad for 30m and apparently mark zuckerberg lives in the area too! On the way back we went past the house from Mrs doubtfire.
One of the areas here is called tenderloin apparently and I'm not sure if it's true but I like the story when alcohol was illegal if the police tried to close the speak easy bars they were bribed with streak !
We went over to Sausalito which reminded me of noosa Id go back if I had more time. And we went to Muir woods which were er rather dull compared to the ones in the UK! You will see from the pics there were some photo opportunities of the bridge.
After being dropped off I went to fishermans wharf rather touristy and a bit like littlehampton fair or the one at southsea - liz!
I then went to little Italy for my dinner to Capps which was delicious then I walked back through China town and then headed back to the hostel.
All in all I like San Francisco people kept telling me I would and they were right :-)
