"It's not a goodbye, but a see you again"! That's what I have been saying many times already. Whether it's concerning friends, job, places, etc.. I will come back and most things will look the exact same as when I left. People will still be here and still be friends. My former company will definitely be there and finding a job there should be possible over time.. If I want to.
No goodbyes, but see you again!
It's a nice, comfortable thought - indeed! What I do know is that there is goodbyes, if I want it or not! A lot happens in a year, both to me and my surroundings.
For example I believe I have said goodbye to Malmö. I'm quite sure I won't live there again, not like there was anything wrong, but I don't see my path go there.
Another example, I believe I'm saying goodbye to my childhood home, built and designed by my parents 30 years ago, my home for almost 20 years and yesterday it went on the market for sale. And I truly hope it will be sold within a year!
So there is goodbyes.. Luckily there is a lot more "see you again"! Otherwise it would hurt way too much!
Then there is the goodbyes we can not control as humans. When people leave us.. It can happen every day, even though I'm here or in South America. It's something that is out of human hands. Still it's something I have used some time to reflect upon. Telling myself exactly "it can happen every day!" And it doesn't matter where I am, as I can't change it. So serious topic but I am happy to have went through now beforehand.
To travel so far away for so long is just not only fun! At least it's easier to be prepared, so it's not out there a lot of important decisions has to made.
We have to live and love life everyday! It's so easy to say and damn hard to live through for many people! But we need to - we can't know what tomorrow brings and we will never know.
So why not use the time on love and happiness? Enjoy the small things in our everyday even if it's a sunbeam coming through on a cloudy day, or it's a smile from the waiter serving your coffee, or it's a post-it saying "Good morning!" From a friend?
