5:30 wake up call for Brussels! The bus ride took about 4 hours so we got to Brussels around 1. We had to store our bags because we couldn't check in until 2 so all got back on the bus and went straight to the Parlamentarium. It was a pretty cool place. We all got headsets that we could flash onto random photos/displays to get more information to read or listen to facts. There was a lot of interesting information about the world wars but the coolest part was downstairs. It was this room that was lit with blue and green lights and had these machines that you could push over random spots on the lit up floor to get information. There was another room where you sat down in chairs and in a circle around you were these huge display screens. At one point the images all start swirling in a circle and it made it look like you were spinning. That was pretty tight. After all the exploring was done we went back to the hostile to get ready for Kayla's birthday night! A group of us girls got dressed up and went out for dinner. We took the metro and it was amazingly easy (such a nice change from France hah) into the part of town a guy working at the Parlamentarium recommended to us. We walked down this street with a ton of cute cafes until we found one we all liked. I got some amazing seafood; shrimp scapi to start and then salmon and sea bass with really good sauce. It also came with the famous Belgian French fries which were pretty good too. After dinner we all went on the search for the really good Belgian waffle place. So happy everyone else had the goal of getting real Belgian waffles just like me! We found the place and all went waffle crazy. Tori and I split banana chocolate and we all tried each others. The ice cream there was amazing too. After we all stuffed our faces we went to go meet everyone else in the Deliruim area a huuuuge bar strip with all the famous Belgian beer. The bar scene was really cool; the whole street was jam packed and you could hop from bar to bar with whatever drinks. A bunch of guys got the infamous das boots and we all tried all the different beers. There was a really good one that tasted like cherries and there was a bar with super good mojitos too. We all hung out and played games. The guys in Brussels are a whole other level of weird though haha. This one guy told me I have the world's most perfect calves. Apparently there's a lot of different shapes and sizes who knew. Another pair of guys tried to buy Tori that was pretty interesting too haha. A big group of us left the bar strip after a while to go search for a club. It turned out to be much longer of a walk than we expected but it was cool to see some of the town even though we were pretty much lost. Once we found an area with clubs we just went into a random one and it was like out of the 20s. They were playing ridiculous music and everyone was swing dancing so we all just joined in even though none of us really knew what we were doing haha. So overall it was a great start to the 4th of July since we couldn't be in America!
