After saying goodbye to the girls I was able to look forward to a day of me time spent on the beach in the sunshine - perfect. The weather was beautiful - so hot and sunny and fabulous for tanning! I got a traditional Vietnamese Bahn Mi (Vietnamese baguette) for lunch for only 20,000 dong which is the equivalent of around 70p which was great. The best part of having a day to myself again after being so surrounded by people for weeks is that I could eat super cheap and save some money as I have done some extravagant but incredible things on the last few weeks. I love travelling alone - it's so free, being able to do whatever you like whenever you like and not having to make any compromises! I guess travelling alone gives you the chance to be selfish but in the best possible way.
I returned to the beach for a few more hours, reading and sunbathing and actually achieved a pretty good tan with no burn; this makes me super happy after being so sun burnt in India! I think I will stay here another day to give me a good base colour for Indonesia (as last time I was in Bali I was also very burnt - how British am I?!).
Back at the hostel I spent a while chatting and hanging out with Dario before going to meet Sam and Lise, who I had met in Halong Bay on the Castaway trip, for dinner. I had stir fried chicken with cashew nuts and pineapple, mmmm. I decided to have a relaxed evening - a day off drinking and keep the day a cheap one! It was nice FaceTiming my family from Florida and doing some organising. Sometimes it's nice to catch up with people at home so I spent the evening chatting to my friends back in the UK and planning where to go next.
