As Liz tries to delete some photos on the camera before we try to upload some photos from Ljubljana I will write a little. This place is really lovely less of a city feel about it. It is fairly busy with again a cafe culture feeling with lots of people just drinking coffee or beer and people watching. Liz now... It has a feel of St Andrews about it, even tho' it's a capital city. Lots of students and bikes by the load. Of course we're not really seeing anything but the tourist bits.
I think I didn't finish my thoughts on Zagreb. Croatia hopes to join the EU in 2009 or 10, and they've got a way to go. We really enjoyed the market, with farmers bringing their own cheeses in tupperware bowls and selling them and home made yogurt. That would have to stop! The meat for sale was also interesting, with recognisable meat and other things too! One resto had horse on the menu, and another foal filet. One whole shop in Split was just for eggs! The other thing I noticed was the shop windows. Goods look similar, but they have to learn a thing or two about window dressing!
Bye from sunny, lovley, sweet Ljubljana. Off to Bled tomorrow - we'll be thinking about Anne Brown!
