80 Mile Beach
A beautiful campsite on a wonderful long white beach on the long road between between Port Hedland and Broome. Another fantastic sunset. Lovely warm but very shallow cloudy sea for swimming and we go in to the shallows but with warnings of sharks sighted that day. No fishes to see and the waves are not big enough to body surf, but it's still lovely to sit and swim in.
Extremely high humidity at night, the vehicles and trailer are totally soaked in the early morning, enough to give the car a clean.
Bit of a calamity for C&J as they have one of the catches still attached when they start to wind up the trailer, thus snapping one of the main wires and not being able to put it up properly. They resort to their tent for sleeping and ring forward to Broome to find someone to fix it. It makes a change for someone else to have a van disaster. It makes our oven front and now the internal light extension falling off seem small fry.
We decide to spend an extra day just to recharge ourselves and give me some time to try to fix some of the small maintenance issues on the trailer. I need to work out how the internal light extensions work and what is needed to fix it. Fortunately not too difficult a task in the end, so I also have a go at the door latch, the fire extinguisher and the trailer front store latches.
