First the good news: I finally got my hostfamily!! YAY
On 17.12.2015 I suddenly had an e-mail from a woman I didn't know, who told me, that she was my host sister from Japan! Since that first e-mail we have written back and forth several times and it seems, as if my hostfamily is perfect for me.
The reasons to say this: They are only a mother and daughter who are roughly in the same age as my parents and I. The daughter, my host sister and main organisator of the whole host thing, is only 5 years younger than myself and seems to be very excited to have me with them. She already asked me, if we'll go shopping on my first day. Their hobbies are reading, cinema, handicraft and getting to know other cultures (which are some of my own hobbies) and it will only take about 40 minutes to school (only one transfer) and I'll have a direct connection to Akihabara, which will take about 15 minutes The only thing that I'm not really sure right now, is if they have an elevetor or not. My host sister Kay wrote something, that makes me think that maybe I'll have to climb 14 floors...
Now something a little more up to date:
On 24.12.2015 I only worked until lunch and now I have a week off, to prepare for the journey. When I tried to make a timetable for the next few days, I noticed that it might be a little more complicated/hard than expected. So today I got up about an hour earlier than planned and spontaneously made two braided breads (one for the freezer), washed the dishes and then started to "trialpack". Since I was sidetracked a lot and sometimes just started doing other stuff in between, I finished with that quite late. Furthermore, I just couldn't pack everything, because I still have to buy stuff, wash some clothes and still need some of it. Lucily, I was able to do some laundry already. This means that I won't have to do so much tomorrow.
My plans for tomorrow are:
- 11 a.m. hairdresser
- 2.30-8.30 p.m. laundry (since I already did some laundry today, it probably won't take this long)
- During the time that I'll wait for the laundry to be ready, I plan on tidying up and cleaning as well as preparing the old papers and cartons for collection (the next collection sadly isn't until next week). I also plan on doing some paperwork (hints for my sister, doing lists, copying/printing documents, etc.).
For this whole week I will try to go to bed at 10 p.m. and get up at 9 a.m., to get as much sleep as possible. Also, I'd like to update this blog daily, even though I fear that I won't be able to do this. Besides, I really don't know if it is interesting to write about packing, shopping, listing things, etc. for 4 days.
Since I also haven't yet finished a game I've been playing lately, and I'd like to finish it before going to Japan, it's quite possible that I will be gaming well into the night. I don't hope that this will happen, but it might...
