Breakfast at the hotel and then picked up around 8:45 and driven to the dock where we took a long tailed boat out to our dive boat. It took approximately 2 hours to get to Phi Phi Lay and on the way we were given some instruction by our English dive master and then kitted up and commenced our first dive. I must admit I was more than a bit nervous (Sue had been diving previously in Fiji with Lisa). We went straight at it and I really didn't feel comfortable for some time. Whilst I did finally relax, my right ear gave me heaps of trouble and I also got really giddy trying to clear it so wound up finishing the dive feeling sick as a dog! Buggar! BUT, it was amazing down there. We saw heaps of beautiful fish and were even lucky enough to see a quite large sea turtle! It was certainly an amazing experience and Sue really enjoyed it also. Unfortunately I felt too ill to go on a second dive but Sue went and they dived this time along a sheer wall which she said was excellent. I was able to get some photos of her finishing the dive, as you will see in the album. On our return we went for a swim in the pool before going to dinner at a large restaurant on Ao Nang Beach road where we had excellent food and Sue had some very spectacular cocktails! It is a shame that we can't say the same for the live music which was atrocious (to say the least)! An asian guy with a very high voice singing along to his canned rhythm machine which made every song sound like a clone of the one before!! Just as we were to head home a tropical downpour hit and the staff got the Tuk Tuk to drive up onto the path in front of the hotel to pick us up with a minimum of discomfort! Home to bed ready for our next adventure.
