Chris was disappointed again this morning because there weren't any pancakes at breakfast lol. I think he's become obsessed with them! Afterwards we went out to book ourselves on a cooking class I had read about on trip advisor. We were really excited about it but when we asked a travel agent to book it the lady laughed at us! She knew the company well and said they were always fully booked, reservations had to be made in advance. Well we didn't have time to wait around in Ubud so we will look into a class elsewhere in Bali. Instead we booked a bus for tomorrow going to Lovina to watch wild dolphins out at sea. It would be cool if we could get in and swim with them but so far we haven't heard that we can.
Before midday we took another walk around town so Chris could buy some bananas and feed the monkeys again! As soon as the bananas were in his hand a monkey jumped onto him but he wouldn't give him any. The monkey held on tight but Chris eventually managed to shake him off. I noticed that the monkey had bitten Chris on his back! It left little teeth marks on his white vest, luckily that was all it left lol. Before any more monkeys could try their luck of stealing the bananas Chris quickly fed three little babies, one big male he couldn't say no to and finally gave one to the monkey that jumped him.
Crispy duck is very famous in Ubud and is advertised outside almost every restaurant so we had to try it for ourselves and see what the hype was all about. We went to the Rice Terrace restaurant for lunch to get some and we weren't disappointed, it was delicious! It's just a shame it's a little bit expensive otherwise I think we would eat it every day!
We stayed there for a couple hours and got through a few large bintang beers. We felt tipsy by the time we left and waddled back to our hotel. When we got back to our room we saw a very large group of monkeys making their way across the roof tops. Chris wanted to encourage them down so he could feed them so he ran out to get a bunch of bananas (and a few more bottles of beer). They really were a large group of monkeys and there were no keepers or staff nearby to save us if they decided to attack, I warned him it was probably a bad idea but he still waved his bananas in the air to attract them! We watched as they jumped across roofs, swung across power lines, trees and basically ate everything in their path, but they didn't notice Chris waving his bananas! I quickly shut our door so nothing could get in, then as we both sneaked around the back of a room opposite us where the monkeys were heading. A cat unaware that the monkeys were coming slipped down the back of a wall then suddenly we heard all this screaming and crashing going on! It scared the s*** out of me and we both jumped backwards! I was scared that the monkeys had got hold of the cat and who knows maybe they did, but right now a few big males were fighting with each other and the rest of the monkey group were chasing after them! As they all began to disappear over a wall a few stragglers were left behind, mummies with babies and a really fat one! Chris took his chance and gave the fat monkey a banana but the greedy thing took it and then demanded another before eating the first one! He was too big to argue with so Chris gave the monkey what he wanted. When the bunch of bananas were gone they picked off all the flower buds from the hotel bushes then quickly scrambled away before they could get caught, leaving us to clear up the banana skins they had tossed on the floor!
The heat of the day mixed with the beers we had drunk earlier made us feel sleepy. We fell asleep watching Karl Pilkingtons podcast and woke up later at 10pm. Neither of us were hungry so we got under the covers and went back to sleep.
