We have at last managed to escape from Vordingboug. The gale force winds dropped down to a F5 just for one day, there was an exodus of yachts leaving, all trying to get to another port before more gales this weekend. Most of the yachts are Germans all trying to get south before winter takes hold, we are also heading to Germany. We had about a 30 nm sail across an open sea to get into a long thin fyord called Guldborgsund once in the fyord we anchored for the night. The wind dropped and we had a very peaceful night. This morning we sailed into Nykobing town marina. We got in just in time, as we were securing the boat up we had 29 kns of wind. It was so hard that I was unable to push the boat off the jetty to get an extra fender in place. We are sat in the town centre listening to an Irish folk band playing. The forecast says we will have more wind again this weekend. We have about 40 nm to go in SW direction. The forecast is for F4 or 5 on Monday from the west so we should be able to reach Femarn island on Monday giving us just enough time to winterise Bunny Bee before our flight home on the 2 nd.
