Hi Everyone
Here we are into our 4th week in Tasmania. We have been in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park for the last couple of days. Unfortunately we did not get to go down to Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain as the fog was so bad we couldn't see far in front of us. We did go to the centre the day before so got some photos.
Sunday-We went to Queenstown-again a really pretty town. It is where the mines are and also where the copper suphate mining destroyed the mountains. The drive through from Bronte to Queenstown was undiscribable. The road had lots of twists and bends and around every corner the mountains just stood out and changed every few kms.
Monday- we spent the day at Strahan. We did not expect it to be so quite. Everyone told us that the fish was great there but there was only one small place. The fish was nice but we expected to see more fish available. Tuesday-We went to Lake St Clair. It is a pretty lake. We did a 2hour walk at the Lake. We then went on to see 'The Wall.' An artist is sculpting a wall 100 metres long from wood. It is of the miners and the early settlers in the area. The figures are bigger than life size. The work is so perfectly done with figures of men and women with hair and veins depicted.
The last couple of days have been wonderful driving through these amaxing mountains. It is hard to describe but the mountains are always all around and immence.
The photo is of Plimsol Lake and is the most attractive and prettiest lake I have seen. There are so many lakes here. You go around a corner and theres another lake and they are huge. Makes the Lake District look small.
Love to all x brenda
