Left the caravan in our free camp in York this morning to go for a walk in town checking out all the historic buildings - and the lolly shop. We'd been told there was a market at the Mill but unfortunately it was the following week.
We drove up to the town lookout, getting a great view over the surrounding fields and the little town laid out below.
We then headed back into town and decided to enjoy the sunshine sitting with Devonshire scones and coffee in a lovely garden setting at a local quaint cafe. We met a local who came in with her pet blue and yellow macaw on her shoulder. Of course, missing our beautiful rainbow lorikeet Mishi, we had to say hello.
Time to hit the road around lunchtime knowing we were heading not too far today to Kwolyin and the nearby Kokerbin Rock in the central Wheatbelt district. This granite rock's claim to fame is as the third largest monolith in Australia. Gadi and Cadbury enjoyed the climb and I enjoyed relaxing as the soft afternoon sun lit up the surrounding parkland and far away fields.
After their climb we checked out a nearby old well before heading to the nearby free camp in a forest kindly provided and maintained by the town. We settled in for the night to cook dinner and watch some telly.
Night night xx
