We were the last caravan to leave the rest area - as usual!
Headed into Port Augusta marveling at the impressive backdrop of the Flinders Ranges on one side and the startling blue of the Spencer Gulf on the other.
We went straight to the visitor centre to stock up on maps and find out information about the Ayre Peninsula and the Flinders Ranges.
Had lunch at a lovely viewpoint overlooking the red cliffs. Decided to drive to the Flinders Ranges today for a day or two before we go to the Ayre Peninsula. Driving through the Ranges was spectacular and we enjoyed the undulating hills and marvelous cliffs. Stopped for the night at Warren Gorge, with its stunning red cliffs and deep gorge. We set up right on the bank of the gorge and sat in the sun enjoying the local wildlife including yellow foot rock wallabies, apostle birds, blue cheeked honey eaters, galahs and kookaburras. Gadi and Cadbury climbed the towering cliffs directly in front of us. Ate dinner just as the sun was setting on another lovely day.
Night night, sweet dreams xx
