Climate Change at the Arctic's Edge

Hi all, I am a Science teacher at Pittwater High School who will be researching climate change at the Arctic's edge as an UltraFeedback Earthwatch Fellow. I was awarded this fellowship by my sponsor, UltraFeedback and this site will form part of an online learning experience for all PCS students on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The research station is 23Km East of Churchill, Manitoba, Canada on the edge of Hudson Bay at the meeting of three major ecosystems: marine, tundra and northern boreal forest.

I will be at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre on Hudson Bay for most of October 2008.

The surrounding area in inhabited by around 1200 Polar Bears as well as Grizzly and Black Bears.
