Remember the Alamo?
1836 March 6th
The Spanish (Mexican) army slaughtered the defenders of the newly independent Texas in San Antonio.
So a bus ride ($1.20) from the KOA campsite to downtown San Antonio. A quick beer in Coyote ugly bar . Then some culture at the Alamo.
Brushed up on my history i never knew there were a number of English, Scottish, Irish and one Welshman defending the Alamo all of whom died there!
Now in need of refreshment, I headed for the German bar on the river walk bratwurst and beer. I spoke to the waitresses in German and got the reply "we only know Gutten Tag" and then onto the British pub.
They don't understand British pubs! - no English footie on the screens, the barmaids had mini kilts on and they didn't serve john smiths or boddingtons.
Any how wander round the river walk and ended up back at coyote ugly. Women dancing on the bar nearly knocked my beer over. One kept shaking her hair in my beer?. Time for a sharp exit and on to Joes Crab Shack for king crab legs. Yummysoon time for a taxi back to campsite.
May call in at CDC tomorrow. That's content development centre not centre for disease control. !
