Early to rise and out. Breakfast at Cracker Barrel and onto the Houston Space Center. Lots of original space artefacts to see and films on the largest screen in Texas. I did the tram tour which takes you into the Johnson space center- ie where the actual work takes place and we went into the control room from where all shuttle missions were controlled. It's had a refit and is eventually going to be the control for the Orion programme to land people on Mars by 2040.
It will shortly be used as control for the ISS while they upgrade their room.
Nice day except for a leaky sewage pipe which had dumped all my wee on the ground overnight. Thoughts of expensive repairs- so armed with gloves and a screwdriver I tightened the clamps. Seems to have worked.
Oh the other wheel trim fell off last night!
There's always something!
Going to Rudy's BBQ shack tonight for dinner on recommendation.
Rudy's - brill - you order your meat and sides and drinks and they weigh them out and give you a basket to put everything in. I had 1/4 lb brisket and 1/4 lb baby back ribs (both were just over 1/4lb) with a small new potatoes and small coleslaw and 2 x $1 lone star beers. There was also a salad bar and sauces free. I steered clear of the nasty looking peppers! Total $19.85 result!
