As the great Johnny Winter would often say, "Lord Bless My Brother”. After we driven round Hampshire, looking at Fords, we attended a pub quiz where there would be one of those impossible to predict, sublime moments. The quiz was very well attended by a lot of very competitive 50 & 60 somethings, mostly in big teams, whilst we were a brotherly team of two. The quiz was very eclectic, with a number of themes, including one concerning popular songs about dogs. At one point, the quiz master played that popular hit from 1951 "How Much is that Doggy in the Window?" and we had to name the song and singer. Since the title is the same as the main chorus line, that was no big deal, but the quiz master was slightly mocking in his assertion that "no-one will get the singer". Ricky looked at me and said "I think that's Lita Rosa". He was spot on, and the only one in the packed room to get it. When his unique achievement was made known, our very appreciative rival teams were moved to give Ricky an impromptu and rousing round of applause. Like I said, a sublime moment; Lord Bless Ricky.
