We met a really lovely couple, Kate and Dom, last night in the hotel bar, who invited us back to Lancashire to explore tunnels, caves and disused mines plus some great on/off road biking. Dom & Kate are both fell runners and Dom is a UIAGM guide and knows exactly what he's up to.
We were a bit too early for the landlord re breakfast but he kindly got up at 07:30 to unlock the tandem and we had a good chat at the bar before we left, what a lovely man.
No enormous hills today so managed to make reasonable time to Morecambe for breakfast and had a lovely view of the bay as we rolled on down the A6. We stopped in Lancaster on the way as we had to get Martin a gel cover for his saddle, for the obvious reason and Wayne in Currys very generously gave us, free of charge, a new charger for the iPad, the old one having gone wrong.
We had lunch in Preston and stopped for tea in Wigan where we met Tabby and Katherine, pictured, who donated £10 for the Macmillan fund which we payed into the just giving site:

We got a little lost in Warrington on our way to the hotel in Lymm and had to cycle down the busy bypasses and giant retail outlets and even walk across the locks of the Manchester Ship Canal! We finally got to our hotel with the aid of Mr Google which took us down a dead end and only by chance did we see a passageway between the houses which led us through to our hotel. Unfortunately the 63 miles we had planned had turned into 70.
