I flew into Cairns yesterday morning, having got up at stupid 4.45am! And even at that time Darwin was warm and humid. Cairns feels cooler - it's only about 29 degrees and really cloudy today. Yesterday I walked about and booked up my scuba diving course! I am so so so so excited - it starts tomorrow (Friday) and if I like it and pass the tests then I will be staying on a boat on the Great Barrier Reef on Sunday and Monday nights and doing nine dives, including a night dive! So excited, and can't really believe it's happening because I've wanted to do this for so long! I've also started booking up my trip down the coast - am planning on sailing around the Whitsundays, doing a tour on Frazer Island and canoeing the everglades in Noosa because apparently that's included in my package! I'm going to go whalewatching, and go to Australia Zoo too, all before Brisbane! Phew!
