The wind is force 8 as we leave the inn for the 10 minute drive to the Newhaven ferry. Long queues suggest the ship is full, which we later discover is due to last night's crossing, but boarding progresses quickly and we are soon Away in a salle a Manger munching on pain au raisin and drinking coffee.
Big waves are crashing over the breakwater as Cote d'Albatra manoeuvres out of port. The first two hours are quite rough and the tanoy announces we will be 30 minutes late arriving in Dieppe.
By lunchtime it is reasonably smooth and we arrive 15:30 French time.
We set off in convoy towards our stop, but en route we encounter a ferry on the Seine which doesn't transport motorhomes. A 40 minute detour through the village of Pissy Peauville takes us alongside the limestone cliffs bordering the river before crossing it over the giant bridge Pont de Breton.
We eventually locate the farm passion next to the river as a small container ship navigates its way from Rouen.
Ali and Grete buy some eggs and milk from the owner, and find out that none of the unsuspecting turkeys in the compound are available as they have all been ordered and are near their 'sell by' date in two days time.
