It is Disneyland day!
Our tour manager got us all Disneyland Paris tickets to two parks - Disney Studios and Disneyland Park for €45.
We entered the Studios first, something like Universal Studios where they have soundstage, cinemas and also motor stunt show.
Art of Disney animation while my friend went on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride (I'm not a fan of rides - I have a fear of falling off, and I am more interested in watching shows and features).
Art of Disney Animation is where they showed how animation evolved through the years, with a narration by Walt Disney's own nephew Roy.
I went into Cinemagique - an interactive show/movie with a lot of unexpected twists; and scenes from classic movies from all eras.
There's also Armageddon Les Special Effec - where visitors are asked to be "extras" in a special scene for Armageddon, where the asteroid is heading straight to our set which is a "battleship". The set shook, went on fire, fell apart, all the works. One of my fave attractions!
We left the Disney Studios and went to Disneyland Park - where the iconic Sleeping Beauty castle is at!
Here's where most of the rides/park are inspired by classic Disney movies - they are divided to Main Street USA, Frontierland, Adventureland, Discoveryland and Fantasyland.
I went to watch Captain EO, a 4D movie specially made for Disneyland, sponsored by Kodak. It is directed by the famous Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas, starring the one and only Michael Jackson (judging by his face, it was probably made in the mid-90s :p ).
It is in 4D, complete with water effects and shaking seats when the music is playing (yes, MJ did his signature dance moves in the short movie).
Couldn't catch the full Mickey Mouse parade at 7.30pm because our coach will be leaving at around 8pm.
Didn't really have time to truly explore the whole place because my friend wanted to chase the more famous rides (although a lot of them were closed for maintenance like Aerosmith's, the Indiana Jones ride - but it didn't affect me cuz I'm not in for the rides). And I guess it'd be more fun to bring kids along.
All the more reasons to return to Paris!
We got back to our campsite to solat and freshen up. Thankfully Maghrib is at 9.58pm during summer in Paris so we got ample time to perform our Zuhur-Asar jamak prayers.
Dinner tonight: nasi tomato with barbequed chicken tandoori. By then another tour group by KC (Highlights of Europe) has just arrived so our campsite has got almost 200 Malaysians that night!
