We were so busy telling all our friends (who don't know you) about your incredible journey and arrival in Cairo on 7th Feb, that we forgot to send you this message : Congratulations on your unbelievable Cape to Cairo drive, mostly hassle free and arriving as two fresh daisies sitting on the roof top of your "Beast" holding the South African flag. We have followed your second leg with great interest up to El Alamein, two adventurous people who shared their experiences with all of us. We will be leaving mid May for our annual 6 month vacation, hope to see you before then otherwise "Saluti a Bella Italia"

Hi John and Marina, Great to see this trip of a lifetime you are doing. I was chatting to Brian Stiebel on the phone as he will be in Cape Town from 11 march to do the Argus cycle race. He told me about your trip and forwarded me your blog details. We live in Somerset West and had a drink with John and Jenny Dugmore the other day and John said he wanted to do a trip to Namibia and I told him about your trip and we discovered that they knew you as well....small world. We must catch up when you are out here in Cape Town again...enjoy your journey! Hannes

Hi guys!!! It seems so strange sending you a message now that we have spent the last 10 most amazing days with you. But reality has already set in, we have been home for about 5 hours and I am already stressed!!! My office was definitely not missed.
Thank you for sharing this most amazing time with us - we certainly enjoyed it and have come back with some fantastic memories and certainly a whole lot of new knowledge!! A history lesson indeed and an honour sharing this special time with you. We wish you continued joy and good luck with the rest of your trip. LA VITA E BELLA!!!!
Ciao for now and thank you again. Take care guys.

Dear John and Marina,
I just have to add my CONGRATULATIONS on you Cape to Cairo effort in 100 days and taking us all along with you - thank you so much - I have loved reading about your adventure.
I can't help but remember Dave and my brief stopover in Cairo some years on our way to Israel. The inevitable nile cruise and belly dancing took place and your mate just had to get up on the stage to see if he could copy her moves - a memorable sight.
I hope that the beauties of the underwater world offer much pleasure in Sharm and I hope that the Beast takes you onwards in safety.
Love di

WELL DONE you two. I did beat you to it tho!!! A delay and unscheduled stopover in Cairo last week en route to JHB and I also got to see the Pyramids and the Spinx etc!!! One day was enough and glad to put a tick now beside Cairo!!!
So, where to now? maybe you should contact Toyota and do a deal........so much Bad publicity they could do with something positive!!!
Looking forward to the news from the next leg, stay safe and enjoy. Much love Jacqueline and Ian xxxx
