Beach time in Iquique
We went through dry, grey and barren landscape for hours and it almost made me feel sad inside. The straight highway through the moon landscape was leading to the coast of Chile from San Pedro de Atacama. It seemed like it would never end, but finally the sea was there in front of us, filling me with happiness and excitement.
We spend several days in Iquique with old fashioned, colonial houses in the centre, the sandy, grey mountains in our back, white sand beaches with palm trees in front of our hostel and great waves for surfing.
What a luxury of having vacation from the travels for a bit. We really took our time to relax here, get some sun, catch up with family and friends as well as we went surfing - both with success, did yoga on the rooftop under the stars, and I went paragliding for the first time and it was amazing!
We realized that it's been exactly a month since I had my last day working at IKEA and exactly a month since Anne handed in her thesis. And even though we only have been traveling for two weeks, we both needed time to digestive the experiences. And the city of Iquique showed itself perfect for all of it.
We also took time to plan ahead for the future travels and talked with other nice travelers for good ideas and inputs. And we have many, many ideas and possibilities in front of us and so far, we feel we have the time to all on our wish list.
Glorious future!

KH FAR
