Seven colored mountains
After a good time in Salta, it was time to leave, and for me a place I would like to return to later on my trip if possible.
We left early morning before sunrise to go north. We had booked a day trip to see the seven colored mountains in Purmamarca. Only after two hours drive the landscape was amazing and the stripes started to show. Purmamarca is a small village in the mountains, living by tourism because of what the nature have created just there, with different colors, like red, purple, yellow, green and more looking like a painting. Amazing!
The trip also took us to an Inka ruin, an Unesco protected church, Tilcara and Humahuaca. Unfortunately the English speaking guide got sick, and our Spanish guide talked fast with an accent and big chunk of coca leaves in his mouth, so I didn't got much out of the information provided, but a lot of beautiful sights.
We got off the bus in Purmamarca and had carefully counted our last Argentinian pesos, so we could buy very little food for the evening and the long bus ride the following day. Leaving Argentina with only 24 pesos which equals 12 DKK.
Being fortunate to sleep next to the seven colored mountains, we decided to get up early, walk to a great view point on top of a hill and watch the sunrise and see the change of colors as the sunbeams slowly covered the mountains.
With this experience we left Argentina and went to Chile.
