Day 29 Fruit Picking -
So it was back to work today. I didn't have the best sleep so I was still a bit groggy when I woke up. At 6:40am was meant to be the men's 100m final at the Olympics, which I really really wanted to watch. I got all my work stuff sorted double time and sat watching and waiting for the final.
As I hoped for, Usain Bolt won the final by a clear margin (and gave up over the last 5-10m), after all the hype of who could be a contender. He was still by far the quickest on the day, and a great showman!
By the time I got to work I was about 10 mins late, as the final was slightly later than scheduled, but everyone at work was very understanding.
As often seems to happen, the morning went really quickly, but the afternoon dragged horribly today. Plus my whole body was aching after all the tree chopping and bonfire making form yesterday.
I got home about 3:30pm as usual, and just chilled out for most the afternoon. I rowed back over to the island and checked the fire area etc, and rekindled it from the ashes to burn off remaining sticks, but otherwise I just chilled out watching the Olympics most of the evning..
(Photo - a photo mum sent me from her day 'at the horses' at the Olympics. Its a shame I am/was on the other side of the world the only time in my life time my home country will host the Olympic games.. However I do feel very proud and quite patriotic to see it all happening and going so well. Plus we are SMASHING the Aussies, so I have solid ground for banter at work!)
