We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz! I don't why that's stuck in my head but we're off to see the Andamans tomorrow. I wish I could just click my heals like Dorothy and magically arrive in paradise as we have a pretty long journey ahead of us. But by now we're quite used to planes, trains and automobiles, well tuk tuks! I'm not sure they can or should be classed as an automobile! We are actually quite proud of ourselves as we have just realised that we have pretty much traversed the whole length of India by land! If only we were flying to Sri Lanka from Trivandrum at the southern end of Kerala instead of Chennai, we would have come pretty darn close.
I can't believe our time in India is almost done and dusted. Well we still have 10 days in the Andamans but mainland India is pretty much over. And what a journey it has been! From the serene chilly foothills of the Himalayas to the hot and humid coast of Kerala, we have passed through snowy mountains, desert, alpine forests, holy rivers, jungles, crazy cities, beach paradises and mangroves, taking in some of the most incredible palaces, forts, temples, shrines and cenotaphs, as well as some of the most beautiful natural scenery I have ever laid my eyes on. India, I bid you farewell with the fondest of memories and a heart filled with love! But with an exasperated sigh as well! Although I vow to come back and see more of you one day, you have tired me out! Luckily we have a small beach holiday coming up to recuperate before the next adventure.
