So now we really are back in civilisation. I thought Savu Savu was built up but now being in Nadi-all the people and buildings and roads are actually freaking me out a bit-I miss the island! :S
However, having the luxury of shops, proper food and amenities is quite the luxury which I won't really refuse! I can tell you now-flushing toilets and actual showers (freshwater AND running, let alone hot/warm) are a luxury that will just never get old! No more collecting a bucket of water from the sea and schleping it up the hill every tume you need the toilet! Wow-it's so good!
We all had two nights at aresort in Savu Savu called Daku and it was filled with lazing by the pool and eating eating eating basically! And it was awesome! However it soon started to hit home that I would be leaaving this beautiful country and these wonderful people.. THIS was not a nice feeling! :(
I had to say goodbye to a few people sooner (including a bery special bure buddy! 3) than everyone else as they all piled in the trucks to Labasa, whereas my flight was from the little dinky airport that is Savu Savu. Literally a baby blue departure actual little picket type gate and an open air waiting area with just one check in desk! I didn't even get a ticket-they tell you your number seat as you get on the little plane! :) I love fiji!
Most people had a night in Nadi and for that I was grateful for, it gave me that little bit more time with all my fiji guys! :S It was quite a quiet night but it was funny seeing everyone's reaction to us islanders! Basically we were in our own little bubble and may have smelt a bit but hey it was all good-we were all together and that was all that mattered!
I had the next day with them and then that eveing was my flight to LA...
I haven't cried so many times in such a short space of time in a long time! I didn't want to leave these amazing people and this place and all my memories I'd made. It was so hard saying goodbye. But I eventually did. :( Over a fair few pitchers of beer and a last game of rock paper scissors! :S
Hopefully we will all see each other soon. We have to!
Don't get me wrong-I was super excited to be seeing my family! 8/9 months is a looong time and I was definitely missing them! I couldn't wait for my sister, mom AND dad to meet me at the airport in LA! And on to my next part of my gap year-my american-now turned RV family holiday time and it was going to be awesome! :)
