OK so I apologize that we have not updated pics and that Poland looks like Pisa but none of the computers will let us upload and this site has no pics to represent Eastern Europe. So we promise to get our act together; well to at least try perhaps Lithuania will solve these problems!
Aside from all that we arrived in Krakow on a Thursday and we were warned that we should book accomodation ahead or we might be in a bind. So since all the hostels seemed to be full we decided to go with a Guest House that seemed to be good enough and actually cheaper than any of the hostels. Big mistake. We showed in town and found our Guest House easily where we were told to go was a great location. Yet when we got there it seemed that our room had had a fire :) and that they would have to move us across town to another room. OK a little sketchy but we arn't to worried since they are talking us to the new location in a taxi and its still in a good location...the Jewish Quarter. Well when get there the girl is unable to easily open any of the three doors it took to get into our room, in fact she couldn't even open the first someone walked up and let us in. We had paid for a double ensuite (for those not in the know that means a room with toilet and shower inside the room) and she showed us a room with separate beds and the bathroom was down the hall or we could have a room with a bathroom but the bunk beds took up all the room and one could barely walk. Anyways we took the larger room since she would not let us return to the office and we were basically screwed. Note we paid extra for a double bed and a bath both of which we did not have. It gets better. When she leaves we start looking around and we notice that all the rooms are unlocked and that we are staying basically in a construction zone with two finished rooms and the rest unfinished and hidden by doors. Since we think we have it all to ourselves Brandon decides to use the bathroom in the other room since its more private. As he's sitting on the pot the lady comes back with another guy to offer him the room that Brandon is currently occupying the toilet! Yet the best part is latter when Brandon goes to use the shower we learn that the Shower construction is not complete and we have no hot water! How we ended up back in Southeast Asia we are not sure but were pissed! So we had to spend the next morning complaining and trying to find another room. The company who we booked with knew they were in the wrong but never offered to give any money back and just wanted to move us again yet this time without the taxi about 2km back across town. Thanks to B's patience and negotiating skills we worked it out and ended up with a decent room but still a shower down the hall!
At the moment we seem to be feeling the effects of being on the road for over six months and cant seem to get moving to fast. We spent our time once again just roaming the streets and the fablous medieval square; we even took in a movie...Harold Crick to help us visualize the Chicago we now miss. We also seem to be struggling with the whole meat an potatoes thing and have been enjoying some lovely italian meals (its great how you can always go for italian).
