Well I've been in Washington D.C. since Monday and I have done a few things but not too much as I am here for 10 days. I arrived here late on Monday night and so that day just comprised of travelling and sleeping. Tuesday I just walked around a bit to see where things were. In the evening I went to the Kennedy Center to see a free jazz concert which was very good. I then went to have dinner with a couple of people who I had met at the hostel and that was about it!
Wednesday was a bit more of a productive day, I walked to the White House and around there as well as walking up to the Washington Monument and around the National Mall. After a lot of walking taking in also the US Navy Memorial and FBI Building I went back to the hostel where I met Marina and Sun who were going on the Georgetown tour in the evening so I decided to join them. We met at round 8pm and was introduced to Marc who was taking us on the tour. We got on the Circulator bus which then became one of my favourite ways to get around the city. When in Georgetown we walked around some of the hotspots, houses where JFK used to live and where famous people dine out. Also seeing the famous exorcist steps which we then had to count to win a beer off Marc. After Sun counting 75 steps and winnning a beer we walked along M Street to Garretts a railroad stle tavern. There we spoke to rest of the tour members who later in the week became our friends as we went out a few times after that. So we spoke (Marina, Sun, Xin Xin, Goetz, Tino and Myself) and the night drew in we finally left at about 12.30am and got a cab back to the hostel which was so funny as Goetz kept saying that the cab smelt bad which it did and there was a lot of confusion between "GUN" and "GUM". That was the end of that night.
