I hope you are all as well as I am. I have been working at the kindergarten (pre-school) for almost 2 weeks now. It has been really fun. With few mis-haps and me giving permission for things when i didnt understand what the children were asking me. On my first day one of the little kids cried when I left, I felt horrible. But I have soon got over feeling really terrible when the kids cry, because it happens very often. It still really sucks, but its not as bad. I also have learnt alot of the language, especially because thats all they know. I feel like I am getting somewhere with it - finally!
I also had my first whole conversation in danish last week. It was really amazing feeling ! I have also been talking for the last week to the other teachers at the pre-school mostly in danish, which has been hard but really helpful.
I am going on a canou trip next week with my class from Skanderborg. I am really looking forward to that, except for the fact we will be travelling for 10 km. But i think it should be fun !
I think i can finally understand why so many people have asked me "Why did you choose Danmark" Apparently vegemite is banned here, because it has added vitamins or something. So I really hope that I can still have it sent . .
We went to Aarhus to see some Art exhibitions. Sculptures by the Sea (it actually originated in Australia, and Princess mary introduced it to Denmark). It was pretty interesting, there was a fully furnished house, that just had rain coming from the roof, ruining everything. Very artistic. . . We also went the Arus Art Museum, where they had this big rainbow ring called "Your Rainbow Panorama". In which you could walk around and see all of Aarhus through different coloured panels. (see the photos)
I also met another Australian exchange student from my school - Alyssa. Its good to hang out and catch up in english :D She is a really cool !
Well thats all I have for now,
Vi ses xx
