Versailles Gardens Ticket: Summer Opening Fountains Show

From: £6.84

Duration: Varies

Category: Sightseeing

Spend your day at the enchanting Gardens of Versailles and enjoy the must-see Versailles fountain shows. Noted in the UNESCO World Heritage list, these fairytale-like French gardens are impressive to behold. Your independent ticket to the Gardens of Versailles offers you a full day of sightseeing at the grand estate. Listen to the Baroque music, explore the secluded groves, watch the fountain show in the morning or afternoon (or both!) and stroll around the graceful gardens under the sun as you immerse yourself in rich French history.

After redeeming your voucher at the entrance of the Gardens of Versailles, head off to explore this must-see Versailles attraction independently and immerse yourself in France’s rich history. Located just west of the fantastic Palace of Versailles, the Gardens of Versailles cover 1,977 acres (800 hectares) of land, landscaped beautifully across 13 different groves. Take your time and explore the garden’s groves, where the flowers, labyrinths, sculptures and fountains will delight your senses.

Originally designed by the famous 17th-century French landscape architect, André Le Nôtre, the Gardens of Versailles have remained quintessentially French in style. Since his original creation, thousands more trees, flowers and shrubs have been planted amid ornate statues and, of course, the incredible Versailles fountains.

Your independent Gardens of Versailles ticket includes a Versailles fountain show (Grandes Eaux), which takes place in the morning (11am-12pm) and afternoon (3:30pm-5:30pm). During the show, a multitude of jets spray water up to 27 feet (8 meters) in the air in sequence with the Baroque music of Jean-Baptiste Lully, a French composer who served the court of Louis XIV. The display finishes at the Bassin de Neptune, often considered the palace’s finest fountain.

Make the most of your experience at the Gardens of Versailles by bringing your own food and blanket and enjoying a picnic at the Grand Canal, which runs through the gardens.
