A very relaxing morning and afternoon spent between the beach and the pool. Kids had more luck spotting crabs here than in Padstow! They also enjoyed surfing the waves!
Late afternoon, we took a taxi into Hoi An town.. Quaint streets well known for tailoring, the most atmospheric and delightful town we have visited so far. No cars allowed down these alleyed lanes. Emma and I were in heaven! We are told the estimated number of tailors working here range from anywhere between 300 and 500. We had our bartering hats on!
A huge success! New loose 3/4 length trousers for Em, a new sarong for me, 2 Vietnamese hats, and more mangoes from the market. The most fun though was when Emma, Jake and I got measured for a new piece of clothing each! Damian stood back as we negotiated the prices, muttering signs of approval or not :-)
It was such a hoot being able to choose our fabrics and our specific designs.
Emma and I think we will leave the boys in a cafe somewhere tomorrow after we have picked up the finished garments so we can wander by ourselves for at least another hour on our own! We still have shoes we want to be made !!!
Emma says this is her " best day so far!"
Dinner at Morning Glory, their speciality dish is morning glory stir fried with garlic...totally delicious.
Tomorrow, another lazy day...
