Arrived at Sunrise Hotel, late last night and tired! Kids fell asleep during the 30 minute taxi journey from the airport. We love our 2 bedroom villa! Go to bed working out tactics on how we can get ourselves a free upgrade for the rest of our stay!

A lovely lie in for everyone.

Drawing back the living room curtains, we are able to fully appreciate how beautiful this place is! Last night it was too late to see anything. Today clear blue skies and hot hot hot. Right in front of us is a stunning uncrowded sandy beach! The water is crystal clear... We can walk straight into it...BLISS!

After yummy breakfast we approach the front desk...Explain our situation to the reservations lady, "would it be possible to upgrade our 2 connecting rooms to the villa we are now booked into"
She starts tapping away on her calculator to work how many millions of Dong it will be (30,000 dong = £1) In the meantime, we catch the eye of the manager, Sven! He engages into a conversation with us. We tell him the lady is just working out if we can upgrade, we pointed at Emma and Jake (who were given prior warning to look extra sweet!) and told him the kids just LOVE the villa ....
He tells us his life story, how he has been in Vietnam for the last 9 years. We listen intently :-)
Lady tells us it will cost an extra so and so Dong. Sven instructs her to let us stay in the villa for the remainder of our stay at no extra cost !!!! YESSSSSS!

Now sat by pool...going to be a day of doing very little...
I think we are going to like Hoi An...a lot :-)
