We had a fantastic nights sleep last night. Woke to the sound of soft rain falling; not good for being a tourist but lovely to snuggle up to. Instead of going into Devizes again to smooch the Wadworth Brewery Shire horses (website http://www.wadworth.co.uk/shire_horses.html and NO Kellie they won't fit on the plane) after their morning beer run we went into Salisbury and then onto Bath. Bath Abbey was just amazing. Words are not enough to explain just how good it was. You might have noticed that we haven't been uploading photos of these places. It's 'cause we've been buying the guide books instead and soaking in the atmosphere.
Oh and we've posted Tims thing home. Fingers crossed that customs in Australia let it through!
We went to a glassblowing place, didn't get to the factory floor because it was raining and well ... you know ... we forgot. We did two hop on hop off tours of Bath. The skyline tour was pretty cool as was the city one. Then we went to the Roman Baths and may I just say OMG. More than 2000 years old. Just fascinating. The Great Britain Heritage pass has paid for itself.
Oh and the park and ride system they have is really cool too. Instead of a kazillion cars all trying to get into town, they pick a spot out of town, build a free car park on it and ten run buses back into the town centre. The bus costs 3 pounds per passenger (return) which is still miles cheaper than some of the parking fees.
So we've decided to eat in tonight, bought some sandwiches, cheese and biscuits for tea and came home. Took a couple photos from down at the canal and will have another good nights sleep tonight beofre we head for Basingstoke via Avebury (standing stones and ancient burial mounds) for our final accommodations before we come home.
5 more sleeps.
