Well what a day we've had today. We arrived at Dundee yesterday afternnon. No fancy accommodations for us for the next two days, just a great bed and good tucker at a Premier Inn (motel chain). And cheap! After Ireland cheap is what's required.

This morning we headed off to have a look at Barry Mill and/or Stanley Mill, both large working water mills. Because today is Saturday neither place opened until 1. So we ventured just a little further south to Kellie Castle. Yep and it was spelt the right way and everything. A brief drive, a good wander through the walled gardens and yet another advertising opportunity for Ebz all unfolded before us. The castle was lovely, it's been let go a couple of times but is now in the hands of the National Trust as most of them are. Lots of informative guides and some wonderful old ceilings. We had lunch in the castle tearoom called Kellie's Kitchen and we had to make our own cuppa's *sniff*. After we'd been castled out we got back in the car and drove to ....... *drumroll*........ Colinsburgh! Trust me Col, its just far enough away for her not to be a pain but close enough to keep in touch! And its got some great scenery and not far from the coast, a unique town hall, solid old library and a place called Ye Auld Inn which I think might be a drinking establishment?

Yesterday we went to Stirling Castle which was just awesome hence the other photos.

Oh and let me tell you about Pete, his 1 and a half foot long car and his ability to do a 5 point turn at every opportunity although (in his defense) he is getting rather misleading directions. In MY defense its all the fault of the GPS, nothing to do with me. Can't give directions when your eyes are shut tight!

Off to Edinburgh tomorrow (whiskey and souvenir shopping) then on to Grindon for our overnght stay on Hadrians Wall.
