ha! paros eh? could take it or leave it but was good to see an island which was a little less touristy...
the catamaran trip first off wasnt so bad although i felt a little claustrophobic at first...bit different to the ferry...you are shut in (not allowed to go outside)...no real food choices, its quite small and no dvd players etc...still the seats were as comfy as always...it travels really fast too and you get a feel for the movement of the ocean...
came into paros and it was a little disappointing...very flat and township was average...got a taxi to our place again and it was okay although it was on a major road and didnt have a beautiful pool as such (quite small and walled in)...only two nights here so read a bit and took it easy...went into the township - not much to see at all...forgot to say we discovered GYROS in mykonos!!!!!!! food of the gods...a mini kebab with meat, tomato, onions and CHIPS and tzatziki (fresh! so much better than packaged dip)...yummo...headed to naoussa from parikia (where we were) on the public bus and this was a pretty little place although again not much to see...however was aesthetically more pleasing than parikia...tried to go to the cinema when we got back however it was in greek! can we not get a break?! movies in the hotel on the star channel...a few nice restauranty places along the waterfront in parikia again...good for watching the sun go down...
goodbye paros!!!!! off we then headed for santorini! the one id been waiting for...this time we got a lift from the hotel...they seem quite amenable to that as they pick up new clients from off arriving ferries...i think you could totally just wing it with hotels clamouring to sell you a room as soon as you get off the ferries...although the package deal seemed to give us good value for money in terms of the rack rates of hotels we stayed at...
the question now is exactly what mode of transport did we get from paros to santorini...im thinking normal (slow) ferry...but was not enough time to get a dvd from memory...in fact they would not supply us with one even...maybe about 3 horus all up?
