We had a little more than 1 month time to travel through Central America.
We stayed Guatemala, being based in the beautiful colonial town of Antigua from where we visited the volcano Pacaya, the lake of Atitlan and the colourful and busy market of Chichicastenango.
In El Salvador we enjoyed the stunning sunsets descending on the wild pacific cost, the delicious pupusas and the amazing ceviche!
Nicaragua stole our heart! We had the chance to discover Léon, with its revolucionary history that still leaves its marks today, its friendly citizens and its party life! And of course the super cool volcano boarding!! Beautiful colonial Granada, with the huge volcano Mombacho and its rainforest! Isla de Ometepe in the Lake of Nicaragua, with the strenuous hike of the volcano Concepcionand San Juan del Sur…with its super delicious lobsters ;)
Costa Rica was a short but intense trip! Thanks to our little Suzuki Jeep we could drove to our favourite destinations and thus enjoy the canopy through the cloud forest of Santa Elena, trek on Cerro Chato with a nice view of the volcano Arenal and finally lie at the beach of Cahuita National Park, discovering a lot of animals and a lot about bananas and cacao plantations!
And finally Panama, with its impressive canal and the beautiful San Blas islands!
So many countries in such a few time! It was a bit ambitious from our part to think that this time would be enough to discover all the beauties of this area! We had to skip some of the attractions...sadly… but our list of missed locations is ready for the next trip ;)
And now few more weeks to enjoy in Colombia and Ecuador, before going back home…
