It's been pretty grotty the past couple of days. Mels went to school today before I had woken up and I thought she had taken the keys with her and locked me in. There are worse things that could happen I suppose. TV isn't great here, but I've found a channel that plays an awful lot of Frasier, and I like that programme, so have been watching that mainly. So I did a lot of mooching about the house. Mels got back around 1.30pm or so, and I had a movie I wanted to go to at 3pm, so got ready to leave and checked I had everything I needed in my bag and saw... the keys! I hadn't been locked in at all - d'oh! I had completely forgotten I had them. But it wasn't a waste of a day as I gave myself a manicure, a face mask and hair mask and generally relaxed.
I got wet on the way into town as I walked most of it, but the rain here falls straight down, not from all directions like in Welly!
I saw the new American Pie movie, about their reunion. I had my first taste of Ben & Jerry's in a long time (cookie dough - mmmmmm!). The movie was ok. The first will always be the best for me, but it was a nice way to while away some time. They give NZ cinemas a run for their money with all the pre-movie advertising though - around 27 minutes!!
Afterwards I met up with Helen (aka Firtree) for a long overdue catch up. She hasn't changed in the entire time I've known her - still looks exactly the same after all these years! It was great to catch up and we'll do so again when I'm back in a couple of weeks (I head to London on Saturday).
Yesterday I went to Poole for a look around the town I first lived in.
Poole is part of an urban conurbation - you can't really tell where Poole ends and Bournemouth starts. I headed down to the quay area, but it was bad weather, cold and wet, so I didn't get to see much really. Just wandered around looking at shops and what not.
So, that was my not very exciting day yesterday! But just wanted to let you know I made it to Poole ;D
