Synchronicity…A cosmic game!

I have been listening to Deepak Chopra's audio books as I've been knitting in the evenings. It just shows that how we take some things for granted or on a positive note we need certain things in our lives when we are ready to receive them. Anyway I had these audio books on my laptop since December 2007 when Jocke gave them to me in Kovalam and although I listened to one or two when I was in Mysore I never sat still to really listen and focus on them.

So for the past few days I have been listening about synchronicity, or what some people may call coincidences. I see it as one those moving puzzles I had when I was a child, in order to bring the full picture together we have to keep moving pieces around, in different combinations. Perhaps with our lives this puzzle is much bigger and in order to complete someone else's picture we are that puzzle piece that needs to move in and out of many puzzle boards. Or perhaps we could even say that we are all little puzzles within a big puzzle. Hmmm, John would say that we move in and out of form all the time, we are not the same person as we were a second ago; there is a constant change and movement.

Oh, in fact as I write this I have a wet bottom (it is a random thing to say, I know) from sitting under the meditation tree which was a little wet from the rain earlier on. And as I sat under the tree I was reading Eckhart Tolle's book "a new earth" and I highlighted a passage that I wanted to share with John…And as I was walking back to the house I saw John chopping wood so it gave me the opportunity to share it with him much sooner "There are three words that convey the secret of art of living: One With Life. Being one with life is being one with Now. And then you realise that you don't live life, life lives you. Life is the dancer and you are the dance"…Isn't it true that there are so many potentials out there, so many possibilities that could happen to us that we don't have any control of. And those potentials are the messages, the synchronicities that can lead us to amazing places. Just with awareness.

Anyhow I have been watching for these synchronicities for a few days, being really aware of everything around me, ever conversation, sign..basically being very present! And I had so many things appearing today like John repeating something I heard on the audio books last night, using the exact words but in a different context in the yoga room; or an email I received from a friend this morning and the message contained within it, and even the chapters of the book I had been reading! Some things seem to be coming back to me again and again…

And with the joy of seeing these signs (and not necessarily knowing what to do with them) I had such contentment and trust. For the first time since I left London I am really excited about returning. After all nothing will be the same like I had been dreading, surely people would have changed, I have changed, I made some great friends in the UK, and I feel that it is time to return to share my learning, to teach the yoga, and simply be that puzzle piece that I am in other's pictures, just like they will be in mine…
