Everybody needs a swami in their life
"Trust the intelligence in your life and feel its support" was her closing line to me. I just had a long chat with Swami as she will be leaving us at the end of the week. We had her around for the past 6 weeks and probably became good entertainment for her, as she watched us go through emotions, as we asked funny questions and as our faces changed with glimpses of realisation.
It was certainly amazing to have her here and hear her words of wisdom, the truth that often hurt as we understood it.
Anyhow, I was pretty honest with her about the uncertainties of returning to London, I won't call it home anymore because I have discovered that it doesn't matter where I am, I am always home. I did feel worries, fear, and doubts about returning home because I changed so much, I evolved so much and learned so much. Those feeling arise because I changed for the better and I am afraid to fall into bad habits, into my ego and my desires.
She was ever so nice to hear everything I had to say, and even talking it out loud to her made me realise that I already had the solutions within me. That inner guru is all you need she would say…She made some great recommendations on how to continue forward on the path and stay balanced. This wasn't to say that I have to hide in my room, or be withdrawn from people, but to discriminate in my thoughts and actions in a way that it keeps me balanced.
And as I walked out of that lovely talk with her I was already feeling lighter and brighter, to an extend that Takako said that I was glowing with love, with a big grin on my face.
I think we shouldn't underestimate how much we have grown here in the past 6 weeks, not only with John and what he passes on to us but also with Swami and the great combination they have made.
After all yoga isn't about getting your legs behind your head. It is to control the mind so that you can undercover what has been hidden underneath, right at the core of the heart where it was originally hidden, the gem of true being.
Onwards with the journey then! Wherever it may take me, with its turns and twists...
