Fun evening activities- who is sane?
Someone could have easily stuck a camera in where we are and treat us as the human zoo. Who is normal, what is normal, and we should measure it? We have no idea. As some of us have now been here for 5-6 weeks, we are beginning to entertain ourselves in bizarre ways.
Spending so much time in the hot tub, counting yoga vinyasas, doing jump throughs, we have now moved onto creating shows. There will be the opening gala of our show in a week's time, synchronised swimming in a hot tub small as our bathtubs! In fact during one of the rehearsal one of the moves was taken out as someone managed to kick another in the face.
Also last night was another classic. We had a pyjama party, rubbed honey on our faces (it was Jamey's idea) and while the honey dripped onto our t-shirts, sofas and carpet we watched Moulin Rouge singing along to the songs. In fact we now think that instead of Madonna's Vande gurunam song we should have Like a Virgin as our theme music for the hot tub dance!
Then there are the finger puppets we are obsessed with, creating stories with animals stuck onto our fingers?? And next Saturday is the movie night where we'll get fish and chips takeaway and stuff our faces whilst watching a movie…
Hmmm, it just makes me wonder whether the people in cities who we call "not so normal" compared to us are in fact more sane than us!
Anyway, today lazy Sunday it was. I sat under the tree writing my essay for Swami "who am I". I just let the inspiration flow and have no desire to read what I have written as it will not make a lot of sense anyhow. Then I did something that I know never ever to do, that was to check my bank account…Where does money go? I was pretty worried about running out or having to cut my trip short but I soon decided not to worry! Money comes; money goes…The life experience I will be gaining before I head back is worth every penny!
So now the group is watching yet another yoga DVD (we have pretty much memorised John Scott's one) and I decided to take rest as I didn't get much sleep last night due to my cleansing session which involved s***ting until 2am. But I discovered something, when you want to start fresh, or something new, there is great benefit in doing something like a cleanse, or cut your hair..Its a physical release of something!
And I have a great surprise from a friend (whom I've never met but it'll be fun meeting in NZ) staying close by for the next few weeks. I always admired this guy's freedom and courage, such a free spirit. So it'll be fun to get to know him a little.
