What to write now?
The first week is over and my body is feeling it. John got us to do a full vinyasa class this morning, as he says "one breath, one body, one mind, one consciousness". Dorris and Debi were observing the class and said that it was amazing to watch us move in such synchrinicity (hard one to spell). We were sweating, slipping, sliding, the windows were all steemed up but John gave us such courage and the energy in the room was so imense that all we had to do was ride it...But after all those intense days I think we were all ready to pack our books away for the weekend.
Swami has been talking a lot about the ultimate reality, the consciousness, the self, brahman for some time. We have been bombarding her with questions on karma, on dharma, on religions and so on. She is so neutral and so intelligent and yet so easy to understand that we are so absorned in it, and as the penny drops she sees our amazed expressions. She knows so much scientifically as well, and has studied with many senior lamas and witnessed amazing things.
My days are beginning to be slightly more routined, with morning meditation, then an hour walk in the fields (there are always suprises, like the rainbow this morning, and the horses that i got to pet yesterday), then self practice and learning....as we finish the lessons at 6pm, we often spend time cooking or talking or as we did last night learning more. we counted john's yoga practice on his dvd with sanskrit, and for fun put it on fast forward which meant we were in stitches as we tried to catch up with him.
I'm also still learning about my consitioned mind, and how wider my oulook on life has become. There has been great realizations, with the help of swami, on life, on creation, on death. We had a beautiful chat about my brother as well, and all of a sudden loss of life meant a great beginning for him and wasnt so painful for me.
And I've opened up to people more. There was a great passage scott got me to read in a astanga yoga book by Prem, on love. About loving people as they are the different faces of the divine, of us! I dont want to get into personal details of who is who, and what they do...but they have been amazing so far, and feels like we have a great group together who have bonded well. Sadly 4 out of 10 will leave at the end of the month as they are only studying 1 month of the training but by then we would have built strong friendships...
We're going to do some serious manifestation with scott under the tree this weekend, which I have already started to do, began to visualise and feel in my bones! So very much enjoying the little surprises of life...
Ah, just the body aches...i will be in the hot tub tomorrow for some time
