The sun is ALWAYS shining behind the clouds…
Well John's workshop is going really well, he's more of an instrument to whatever universe wants to pass on. His opening lines were just about that, he is here because the students wanted him here and students are here because he wanted the students to be here. He has information to pass on, he is full and need to empty so that he can re-create, re-fill again…
And what other teacher would apply the Newton's law of motion to yoga but John?
- Law of inertia: an object can only move if the force applied is greater than the force of the object itself. What stops us humans from moving is our resistance, through conditioning, reasoning, because we can practise blindly rather than treat this practise as a scientific experiment to learn from
- F= M x A (Force= Mass x Acceleration) that is equated in yoga as Breath= Body x Movement (vinyasa) "a stiff mind is harder to move than a free mind"
- Law of attraction (equal and opposite objects attracting each other, thoughts, energies attracting each other as well as the east and west attracting each other)
He was saying a lot of things I heard before but in a different way. In Vancuver one of the students at the workshop wrote a poem for John with realisation that "I am not the leaf blown by the wind but I am the wind blowing the leaf…I am the wind…I AM"
And interesting enough I had spent the last few evenings listening to audio books of Ken Wilber and Wayne Dyer…and John was simply reconfirming all that I had heard, and often looking into my eyes to see if I was hearing him, understanding him.
It was a 3hour theory class with a bit of practise…In fact I learnt to count sun salutation A and B in Japanese, including how to say inhale and exhale!
