Desert Awaits us!
I have a cold, feel slightly under the weather, very hot in Jaisalmer and slowly losing my patients with the locals who constantly want to make small talk "hello, which country, what is your name"...I know its simply a phase as I do pretty much love Jaisalmer. When I get irritated I stop and begin to tell the locals about my problems like "well, I dont have a job, I'm travelling with one bag so I cant buy anything from you. Now I have a cold, a headache"...and I ask them how they can help me with my problems. That ofetns result with being left alone. Afterall they are quite open to talk about their problems, or what they may make up as their problem "no business, not many toruist, I am poor" etc etc
However I am pretty keen about our trip in the desert tomorrow. We actually booked it with the first guy we met, he seem to have good vibes about him, no bull-s*** at all. He drew us a map of where will be going, whats included in the price and what flexibilities we have. Sometimes it is more trouble to shop around, we liked him, we liked his price and decided to take up his ofer.
So we'll be driving out in the jeep, stopping at a jain temple, the ghost town (the stroy goes: the prime minister in 1950s was very abusive of the Brhamins who lived in this area and wanted to marry a 15 year old. the family and the people of the town were against his attitude, in the end they were fed up with him and left the town) and a quiet fort. Then we'll get on our camels (that may be spitting at us time to time) for a few hours on teh sand dunes, watching the sunset. We'll have dinner and sleep under the starts. Next morning we'll get up early and head off on the camels a little more before arriving at a tribal village, having lunch and then returning on the jeep back into town! I cant wait...He did say that sometimes he throws in surprises in the trips so we'll see how it all goes tomorrow.
Yes, so now trying to catch up with uploading of photos at a hot sticky internet cafe...aaaargh
