Time flies when you have fun!
Its been a few days again that I havent written much but thats because I have been focusing on "doing" rather than "reflecting". Liz is here from Australia and it is just great to catch up, hang out and become a tourist in Goa. Our main focus has been food ofcourse. I dont normally eat this much, its scray stuff, I am actually expanding in all dimensions and Liz likes to remind me how I had gradually put on a stone when we were travelling 5 years ago. However I know that its because I'm enjoying things a lot at the moment and will be ok once I get into a routine in Kovalam...But hey, the food and the variety is just so good here:)
So what we have been up to? Well, we moved twice since saturday but thats because our room wasnt quite ready but we are now in a beautiful room now in a beautiful house managed by Mark, an irish yoga teacher who spends his winters out here.
We are doing lots of things, sometimes that could be staying in a hammock for 4 hours and on sunday which was more about sightseeing, Old Goa, Panjim, walking around, seeing another Bollywood movie. Yesterday we went to do Emil's famous pranayama and meditation class but he wasnt there and had to be taught by Julie. It was a good class but I couldnt quite connect to her and since doing vipassana I feel that I have already found the way for me and do not really require input from others. I just need the will to sit and practice it myself, so working on motivation.
Yoga with Rolf and Marci is great, different energy. They teach from their living room which takes 22 people at a time. There seems to be a longer wait outside the shala everyday, infact we sat and waited 1 hour beofre we were called in the rom this morning. I was pretty happy to skip the practice and head out for breakfast when one suggested it. Also they seem to get more and more stress as the group is growing bigger in numbers. I hear the nervous laughter of Marci and the tension in her voice when she tries to apply compassion and patience in teaching us. But bloody hell, if she gets annoyed with me for not understanding where the hell my inner heels are one more time....Nooo, just kidding, they do make a good team with Rolf's relaxed attitude and her precision! Only that I think he was a little too heavy in adjusting me yesterday and I now have a sore shoulder.
Other than that, oh poor old Liz has food poisining. She was up vomiting from both ends last night and seems to be weak still. So I'm heading to get her some crackers right now!
I will be in Kovalam on 17th dec and counting down the days eagerly...I'm going home again:))
