We have been burgled!

It was avery scary night last night as I was sleeping on my side with my back to the door, I woke up with a light in my room that was moving around. I now knwo what they mean about fight or flight, my heart was thumping so hard in my throat, my ears were sharp as anything. I felt the light move around in the room, I couldnt understand who would come in my room in the middle of the night with a torch, I thought it may be sayuri to get something but what would she be getting??

As I laid there with the light moving around I was trying think of solutions, of making a movemnet subtle enough as though I'm just turning on my side so that they get scared and run out. But then I was also afraid with the possibility of them having a weapon. I finally had the nerve to shift around in bed and noticed the light went outside. I was still very scared though, laid there without moving much and trying to figure out where the person may be. Perhaps after 10 minutes I put my side lamp on, slowly turned over towards the door, it was wide open. I got up, walked to the door absolutely shaking, shut it and bolted it from inside. Then I went to toilet and crawled back into bed, staring at my door and trying to listen any sounds or see any shadows.

And there it was, a pair of feet came back to my door. Where they trying to push it open again? I stopped breathing, eyes wide open, ears sharp, coiled under my duvet, imagination running wild...Do I scream, do i attack them...what the hell do I do?

As they walked away I decided to stay in bed a little more until I was sure that I could get up and put on the light. There was definitely movemnet in the house, I was also afraid for Sayuri whose room is just across the hallway from me. Then after another 10-15min, the light in the hallway switched on and I heard Sayuri whisper "Oz??". I jumped out of my bed, switched my light on and tried to open my door but I was locked in by the burglarer. Sayuri opened it for me, I just pulled her inside and locked again. She was trembling. She had actually woken up adn saw someone run out of her room. We startyed screaming for Theresa and Adam, and screamed that there was someone in the house.

They came down pretty fast, the front door was wide open for an easy escape. we continued trembling with Sayuri, huddled up. We heard Richard also trying to open his bedroom door but they had locked him in also. And our house keeper Rita, who was shouting from her window telling us to open her front door...

We later discovered that they had broken gained access from the side door into the house, went into every single room and once they cleared it they locked us in, as it would be easier for them to escape. We had nothing missing but Theresa's gold necklace was gone, her mobile phones, Adam's wallet, Ipod...They obviosuly had been in their room first but didnt get very far with ours. Oh, the funniest was that the kettle and the iron was also missing...

It took us a while to shake off the shock of the whole experince, called the police who simply told us to make sure we lock all doors from inside and outside (great advice on catching a burglarer)...Anyway, we were simply happy that nothing had happened to any of us whilst they were in our rooms.
