Richard has arrived. Theresa and Adam had gone into the city, Panjim yesterday and went to collect him from the airport also. I was pretty excited to get someone new in the staff house, another person to talk to, bring more dynamics to the group and so on. So around 3om they arrived with Richard. Rita was very excited, I mean we had been looking at the two vacant rooms to see which one he should go into all day and at the end we both agreed on the nicer room that had more character, by that all I mean is that it had more colourful curtains and bed spread in it. Anyway, I was slightly disappointed as Richard turned out to be a very mature, slightly geeky, well educated 34 year old with posh English! I always stick out in crowds of such people. I look way too hyper, smiley; I try so hard to get them to talk and my conversations of farting and burping never goes down well. How do people end up so frozen, as though the stick up their bottoms need to be removed to let a bit of light and energy in? I mean it is still early days and I know that I can't judge people by first impressions, plus Richard is jet-lagged so I'm just hoping that he does loosen up. Now my focus has shifted to Sayanim (I'm sure that is not her name but I never seem to remember it) the Japanese chef arriving on Sunday. Apparently she's very smiley and positive. Otherwise it'll be hard work in the staff house this season.
