Taj Mahal- gratitude to deep, unforgettable love
"Tear drop on the face of humanity" the Indian poet Tagore said about the Taj Mahal, "I have not forgotten, I have not forgotten, O beloved" it says!
Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace), who dies giving birth to their 14th child at the age of 39. On her deathbed she asked Shah Jahan to show the world how much they loved each other. So 22 years of labouring with the most exquisite marble, design and hardship came the Taj Mahal.
There aren't words that would justify the beauty of the Taj. As we entered the site and saw the enormous structure my breath was taken away, I had goose bumps and simply mesmerised with its grandness and its energy. I couldn't take my eyes away from it from some time, until I was able to get closer to it and realise that I really was in the presence of a structure of love, of beauty, of deep sorrow. You can't help but feel your heart fill with love as you understand how much love was put into making of the Taj.
I can't say much other than "go and experience it with your own eyes and your own hearts"
