Singapore: 30th October to 2nd November
Arrived at Krabi airport to fly to Singapore- met a lovely Scottish couple in the queue. Then we were told we were 5KG over luggage limit and it would cost us 50GBP!!! That is more than we paid for the flights and there was no way we were paying it so we proceeded to take heavy clothes out our rucksacks and put them on (roasting!). It's folk like us who give the Scots a bad name, haha. Anyway saved 50quid so worth the embarrassment!
Arriving in Singapore, we felt like we were back in the developed western world- especially due the prices- god it's expensive after the countries we've been in.
We stayed in a great hostel and met some lovely people- our South Korean friend Hyun Su Li (or Chris - his british name) came around some sights with us.
Singapore is a beaultiful place- alot of wealth here- great shops and fancy cars everywhere.
We visited the famous Raffles hotel and as we were walking down the street a couple walked up to us and it took a few seconds to register that it was Rose and Dev Jootun- family friends! So nice to randomly bump into them! Then we headed to the stunning Botanic Gardens. Next stop was something id been looking forward to for ages- the famous Zoo and Night Safari! We unfortunately had a lot of rain but still made the most of it. The best zoo ive ever been to!!! Then for the night safari on Halloween night- dark, creepy and great fun. Loved it!
The next day we visited the lovely Clarke Quay area and then the fancy orchard Rd. Then we went to Fiona and Ade's (Elaine's sister and brother in law) for a BBQ at their gorgeous apartment complex. We had a great night and they were so sweet to get steven a birthday cake and present! And Elaine was a star and tipped them off about my love of Rose wine- so a few bottles later we headed back to our hostel.
Flight to Australia the next day!
